Anomex Suppository is a combination of four medicines: Hydrocortisone, Zinc Oxide, Lidocaine/Lignocaine and Allantoin. Hydrocortisone is a steroid which blocks the production of certain chemical messengers (prostaglandins) that make the skin red, swollen and itchy. Zinc Oxide has astringent and antiseptic action. Lidocaine/Lignocaine is a local anaesthetic which acts through blocking pain signals from the nerves to brain thereby decreasing pain sensation. Allantoin is a skin protectant that moisturises and softens the skin.
